Led by Andrew Murphy, Membership Adviser for Eastbourne, Brighton and Worthing, FSB has been hitting the road this month through a number of major business events.
At Eastbourne FSB Connect, thirty members enjoyed a networking breakfast at the classy Priory Court Hotel. Successful local businesswoman and member, Emma Pearce of Pearce Marketing, spoke upon Linked In for business.
The presentation provided useful tips and techniques for every member to take their business forward. The hotel is owned by Peter Lowton, another winning FSB member, and sits in a beautiful spot opposite the historic Pevensey Castle - the traditional site of the Norman landing in 1066.
Next, it was onto Worthing Assembly Halls for the Better Business Show where Andrew and Martin Searle (Development Manager for Sussex) set up the FSB stand to support local businesses. Tim Loughton, the MP for Shoreham and East Worthing, paid a visit and is pictured (right) with Martin Searle (centre) and Andrew Murphy (left).
Tim has previously hosted a most interesting tour and business roundtable for members in the Houses of Parliament. He kindly offered to organise another this year. On the day Andrew said, “We had a great show and were pleased to inform members on the new website and event booking system. We managed to recruit six new members today, eager to take advantage of the FSB business benefits package”.
The final leg of FSB’s tour this month saw Andrew running a business breakfast: FSB Connect Brighton. Some 25 members enjoyed networking over pastries and a tour of Barclays Eagle Lab – all for free. “The first Connect Brighton event has proven really successful and we hope to continue the programme to support smaller businesses in the City,” added Andrew.
