West of England members visit Parliament to quiz MPs

A group of FSB members from the West of England had the opportunity to quiz MPs, tour the Houses of Parliament and get an insight into FSB policy during a special trip to London organised by the FSB’s Gloucestershire and West of England team.

Members representing a wide range of backgrounds  - from a vet to a coffee shop owner - took up the opportunity to visit Parliament for an hour-long session with local MPs debating small business issues before enjoying a behind-the-scenes trip around Parliament and then a visit to the FSB national headquarters where they were given a policy update by our Deputy Head of Policy Andy Poole.
The members - including FSB officials and  Area Leads -  came from across the West of England area (Bath, Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset) and they were fortunate to be able to meet leading  MPs from three different political parties: Karin Smyth  (Bristol South, Labour),  Wera Hobhouse, (Bath, Lib Dems) and  John Penrose (Weston-super-Mare, Conservative).

The members thoroughly enjoyed the day and left saying they had learned a bit more about our MPs, a bit more about Parliament and indeed a bit more about how the FSB works.

A very worthwhile trip indeed.
