View from the Regional Chair

Everyone likes to be recognised for something they have done well or when they’ve gone the extra mile.

Small business owners don’t receive that many accolades even though it is well recognised that it is our small and micro businesses that drive the economy.

Whilst we’ve been lobbying our elected representatives throughout this year to remind them how important small businesses are, FSB have also been making sure the business owners get their pat on the back.

Our national FSB & Worldpay awards finals in May certainly made sure of that.

All the finalists were winners and should be very proud of what they had achieved and it was great to see so many from London on the winner’s podium.

It certainly gives everyone at the company a boost if they are shortlisted and of course if you do win, there is a lot of kudos and extra publicity for the business.

Because we know the value of entering awards, we also run our own FSB London Business Awards and we’re pleased to report that entries have once again been excellent.

At time of writing we are enjoying going through all the entries, ahead of shortlisting and judging.

I look forward to reporting on the finalists and winners in my next column.
