Once an area is placed into Tier 3 it triggers the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) . This will be administered and paid to those businesses that have been told to close by the individual local authorities.
Businesses instructed to close in Greater Manchester are:
- pubs and bars not serving substantial meals
- bingo halls
- betting shops
- adult gaming centres
- soft play areas
Payments will be made based on the rateable value of the property in fortnightly arrears. The higher the rateable value, the higher the payment will be. See below:
Rateable value under £15k = grant payment of £667 every 2 weeks
Rateable value £15k - £51k = grant payment of £1000 every 2 weeks
Rateable value over £51k = grant payment of £1500 every 2 weeks
Technical details of how councils will administer this money and pay it out is currently being looked at, with no further information available at this point. As soon as FSB knows more will contact members via email and via social media updates on Twitter using @FSBManchester and via Facebook on @FSB.Greater.Manchester.
There will be additional business support available as part of the £60m Greater Manchester package, however no further guidance or eligibility criteria has been communicated by either local authorities or Government.
