The Piece Hall to re-open on Yorkshire Day

This year’s Yorkshire Day will be extra special as The Piece Hall in Halifax will finally re-open its gates to the public after its multi-million pound transformation.

At 10am on Tuesday 1 August 2017 the refurbished West Gate bell will be rung, just as it was on the first day of trading at The Piece Hall on 1 New Year’s Day 1779.

Cllr Tim Swift, Leader of Calderdale Council said, “I’m confident people will be very impressed at the high quality restoration as soon as they come through the gates and, having seen The Piece Hall Trust’s exciting plans for the building it has a very bright future. It will become the place to be.”

The ringing of the bell will signal the start of trading for the independent retailers, bars, cafes and small businesses from their new home, and will launch The Piece Hall as a new retail, leisure and entertainment space.  Further information on the opening events is on www.thepiecehall.co.uk
