The Food Marketing Expert wins Marketing Campaign of the Year

Member Vhari Russell’s team at the Food Marketing Expert are celebrating after their marketing activity scooped "Marketing Campaign of the year" in the inaugural Food Matters Live Awards, for their client The Great Fruit & Veg Adventure.

The Great Fruit & Veg Adventure is a campaign to educate children and families about the benefits of fruit and vegetables. Through the activity, they are aiming to increase consumption, reduce obesity and type two diabetes.

A year ago the adventure started with a motorbike trip from London to Cape Town to educate children as to where and how fresh produce is grown. Food Marketing Expert saw huge growth in the brand, where they have had over 102,549 Facebook followers, 3,947 Twitter followers, 1,186 Instagram, giving them great foundations on which to grow. This Summer they also participated at CarFest North and South, to encourage audiences at the show to get behind the project, which increased support and engagement hugely.

As part of the activity, a campaign was launched to communicate directly with schools, to give them the opportunity to win Pink Lady apples for every child in their school. This campaign was sent to 29,000 schools with a huge response and over 4,500 apples given out over 8 schools.

Vhari said: "This was a great project to work on and the whole team loved working on the project as we all have children and love to encourage and them and inspire them to eat more healthily. It has been amazing to see the reaction that the project has received from the trip to Cape Town and to the school visits, there is a thirst in our children for education and inspiration."
