Organisers and helpers for FSB at Lincolnshire Show 2018 are celebrating success after a tremendous two days for the 'FSB Self Employed Enquiries' marquee at the show. Activities staged for visiting business owners and managers were well received. A high number of entries to the Free Prize Draw to win a Samsung Galaxy Tablet were received, with the prize going to a Member from our Wolds & Coast Branch. FSB Development Manager David Thorpe said: "several businesses and FSB partners took up the opportunity to do a two minute 'Elevator Pitch' which was instantly shared as a live broadcast through Periscope and Twitter. I was especially impressed by those being filmed being able to do their piece to camera so effectively with no signs of 'stage fright' and they seemed to enjoy the experience. The videos have been shared with thousands of followers across social media.

FSB Membership Advisers were kept busy and objectives for new member sign ups were exceeded. Additionally, the number of leads obtained for later appointments to arrange Membership was almost double the number hoped for at 34 so many more business owners will be taking up the advantages of FSB Membership. Of equal importance was that existing Members called in for discussions with the team on duty and this always creates opportunities to enhance Membership retention.

A representative from the Small Business Commissioners office in Birmingham joined the team on the Wednesday. He took the opportunity to find out more about rural affairs and small businesses in particular. He was also introduced to the Lincolnshire County Council Executive Councillor for Economy and Place and the two of them have agreed further liaison for the benefit of small businesses in Lincolnshire and beyond.

A local MP and some local Councillors plus many other stakeholders and partners made their customary visits to enjoy FSB hospitality and catch up with the team. The networking at the show is, for many, the most important part and everyone looks forward to more show success next year.
