Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has hosted a roundtable with James Cartlidge MP in his South Suffolk constituency.
Local FSB members attended the event, which was held at the Hadleigh Ram, and spoke to Mr Cartlidge about their priority issues.
The event was chaired by FSB East Anglia Area Lead David Howell.
Mr Cartlidge has recently been appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary. He told attendees that the government was working hard to deliver a good Brexit deal for small businesses, and that he was concerned about the possible repercussions of a No Deal Brexit.
Members also told Mr Cartlidge about the pressures that had been put on their businesses by the rising cost of the National Living Wage and the auto-enrolment pension roll-out.
Improving local roads and tackling skills shortages were also on the agenda.
The event was the first in a series of MP roundtables to be held this Autumn. Further meetings will be held with George Freeman MP (12 October), Sir Henry Bellingham MP (19 October), Dr Dan Poulter MP (2 November) and Chloe Smith MP (9 November). FSB members can register free for these events through Eventbrite.
