Following the success of the West Sussex Apprentice Graduation ceremony (pictured), East Sussex is following suit. Save the date: 1700, 25 September, 2019. The East Sussex celebratory event takes place at the new, shiny and prestigious Welcome Centre, Devonshire Park, Eastbourne.
The conference and exhibition facility is part-funded by the South East Local Enterprise Partnership, where FSB has strong representation. There will be a business reception and FSB will be sponsoring and supporting the event alongside other partners and stakeholders.
Jim Cunliffe, FSB Sussex Area Leader, who is an Apprenticeship Ambassador, will address employers and apprentices at the event.
He said “My firm (Face Media Group) employs apprentices and this is something I am very committed to. It is important we recruit, train and employ people, especially young people, using apprenticeships. This ensures a pipeline of talent to our smaller, local businesses and supports our economy.”
Event planning is duly underway and the event is already on-line to register. “We urge and encourage businesses to support our apprentices. It is important we give Government and schools the message that apprenticeships are a credible career choice to train and find purposeful work. Age, background and personal circumstances are no barrier to apprenticeships – anyone who is willing to learn and work hard can find their route to a bright future,” added FSB Development Manager, Martin Searle.
