New FSB networking launched in Cambridge

The first meeting of a new regular FSB networking event in Cambridge was a great success with 18 businesses attending the meeting.

It was held at Chesterton Indoor Bowls Club,  Logan's Way, Cambridge and featured  Phil Budd from Action Coach  who gave a 30 minute talk on  'How to get marketing to deliver a return on investment'

Phil said: “Marketing can be a frustration for a small business, in terms of the return you get for the time and money you put into it. Knowing what strategy to use, how much to invest and how to measure the results can make marketing seem daunting. My talk covered “how you can get the best return on your marketing investment.”

The format of the networking meeting allowed everyone at the event to “pitch their business” in short slots to their fellow attendees. The meetings are open to all, including non-members and it attracted a wide range of local businesses across a variety of sectors including building and security, human resources and professional services.

Local area lead for Cambridge,  Alan Todd,  who hosted the event,  said: “This event was really appreciated by the businesses that attended, both members and non-members alike. Phil’s talk was excellent and there was a great atmosphere with businesses making contact with others. We are lucky to have found this great venue in Cambridge and I am really looking forward to the next event.”

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, 17 September at 10.00am and will feature Rachel Mulholland from Forbes Training who will be talking about health and wellbeing in the workplace.

The event costs £3.50  (including VAT) and includes tea, coffee and pastries. Go to  for further information.
