A series of programmes targeted at providing business support for small and medium sized businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire have been launched by Coventry City Council which is partly funded through the European Regional Development Fund.
Following the success of three year programmes, which ran from 2016-2018, three major new support schemes commenced in January to provide support to local businesses up to December 2021.
The schemes will cover the themes of Business Support, Innovation and Green Business, and will be delivered by partnerships of local support providers through a combination of non-financial support and grant funding.
The Business Support programme will help provide business support and capital investment grants to enable growth. The Innovation Programme can provide a range of assistance to SMEs to develop innovative and new to the market, products, services or technologies.
The Green Business Porgramme will support SMEs in Coventry and Warwickshire to be more energy and resource efficient leading to energy efficiencies and cost savings, through new grant funding.
Benefits of the new Green Business Programme include:
• Energy and resource efficiency grants - £1k -£50k (with 40% intervention)
• Free energy and resource efficiency audits to help identify energy, water and waste savings
• Continued free membership to the Green Business Network with new benefits
• New scope of audits to include advice on waste and water savings
• Access to other specialist support to enable growth and innovation
