Mina grows the Ditzy Media team

At a recent FSB Connect breakfast, Mina O’Brien, owner of Creative and Social media company Ditzy Media, announced her firm is expanding. Martin Searle, FSB’s local Development Manager, decided to pay her a visit to get the news in full.

Sitting in her spacious, light and airy offices at Eastbourne’s Enterprise Centre, Mina said: “We needed to hire another person to maintain resilience in the team across an increasing number of customers and contracts.” Quality is a word Mina likes and by recruiting business graduate, Haydn Crellin she feels he will bring qualitative input, creativity and precision to the job.

"It was a tough interview process,” added Mina, where Haydn rose to the top of a quality five person shortlist, an indication that if your firm is reputable and ‘out there’, the right skilled people will find you. Haydn demonstrated great knowledge of the digital business arena and his role will contribute to developing quality digital content and blogs with customers.

Ditzy Media provides social media services, including training and outsourced social media for over 20 customers across a wide range of sectors: hotel and catering, creative and IT, not for profit and public sector services.

She explained that her offices have also recently expanded following a move to the Enterprise centre in 2017. The company started in 2014 and now has four employees.

“We are moving more into social and digital media projects related to events, as a niche,” said Mina, sipping coffee from her ‘Juventus’ mug, her favourite football team owing to her part-Italian ancestry. She talks about the passion and flair she and her team put into projects such as a B2B event in Chichester in July, work with a theatre company at the Edinburgh Fringe in August and the Eastbourne WynterCon Sci-Fi event in September.
