A new support service for employers in small firms has been launched to improve the take up of funded services from Government.
The Small Employer Offer is a new initiative, giving support to small employers (employing 25 or less) to create tailored in work support for employees and advice for employers on workplace adaptations.
The support includes the following aspects:
Access To Work – supporting workplace adaptations and travel to work
Work Trials – this must be a job offer of 16 hours+ ideal to try new employee without paying them
Work Experience – gives an opportunity for someone to try out work
Disability Confident – provides employers with the confidence, skills and tools to help recruit and retain disabled staff. It Challenges misconceptions towards disabilities and increases understanding.
Small Employer Payment - 1 off payment of £500 after 12 weeks continuous employment. This is for eligible candidates and is to support the Government’s commitment to halve the disability employment gap.
