Is your business VI friendly?
Is your business VI friendly?

28 February 2018
Henshaws, a Manchester based charity supporting blind and visually impaired (VI) people, has launched two new business categories as part of its annual awards scheme.
The organisation is looking for nominations for the ‘Eye Health Professional of the Year’ and the ‘VI Friendly Optician of the Year’ in a bid to recognise health professionals and businesses in GM who go the extra mile in helping people with sight loss.
Nominations are also being sought in the ‘VI Friendly Business of the Year’ to recognise the contributions of companies in Greater Manchester for the service they provide customers with a visual impairment. The charity is looking for businesses that make special considerations such as providing a trained member of staff to guide a visually impaired customer. This would be particularly useful for example in a supermarket where stock is constantly changing location.
Henshaws has been established for over 180 years and supports people living with sight and believes that everyone has the right to an independent and fulfilling life. They offer support, advice and training to enable people and their families to build skills, develop confidence and look forward to a more positive future.

and fill in the quick online form. Nominations close on April 6 2018 and the winners will be announced at a special ceremony at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on June 21.
