A packed seminar room enjoyed a digital masterclass hosted by FSB and delivered by Facebook at the Holiday Inn, Brighton (pictured).
Touring the UK, the seminars offer training sessions in Facebook and Instagram to develop skills and confidence to take small businesses to the next level. Trainers Matt and Melissa, covered all aspects of Facebook and particularly how different types of targeted advertising can be utilised for different results.
They showed how Instagram can be used in various ways through stories, posts, and sponsored advertising with the objective to increase shop purchases and customer engagement.
FSB research has found that almost a quarter of small business owners believe a lack of digital skills amongst them and their staff is holding their growth back. Teaming up with Facebook therefore has proved the right solution.
Their research shows 45% of small businesses who use the social media platform in the UK have indicated increased sales and 78% say it has helped attract customers. The seminar content and speakers were well received by the business participants, one commenting that they provided ‘really digestible content’.
There was a lengthy and lively Q and A session and feedback given for Facebook to take back to their teams. Many attendees stayed on after to have some one-to-one time with the speakers from Facebook.
FSB’s Area leader, Jim Cunliffe, who hosted the seminar, said “We are pleased to be learning from Facebook’s experts today. Matt and Melissa have delivered valuable advice to boost online presence and digital skills to help reach new customers. It is great to have the opportunity to ask specific questions as well as being able to meet and network with other small business owners in Brighton and the surrounding area.”
FSB is hosting a second seminar at the Holiday Inn, Brighton (opposite the i360) with Digital Firefly on 18 July. This is entitled ‘Turning Social Media Followers into Engaged Customers’. Search ‘FSB Sussex events’ online for further details and to book.
