A Northamptonshire firm was selected as a national finalist in the FSB & Worldpay National Business Awards which recognise the best small businesses across the UK. Bambino Mio of Broxworth, Northamptonshire were been named regional winner for the East Midlands and national finalist for the Best Business Exporter category.
The FSB & Worldpay UK Business Awards promote and recognise innovation, enterprise and accomplishment amongst the small business and start-up sector.
The awards ceremony took place on 10 May at Shakespeare’s Globe, London. Hosted by Tim Campbell MBE, founder of the Bright Ideas Trust, and winner of the BBC’s first series of ‘The Apprentice’.
Established in 1997 from humble beginnings in the English countryside, Bambino Mio has grown to become the market leader in the reusable nappy industry, exporting to over 70 countries worldwide.
During tough times in the financial crisis Bambino Mio decided to find a bigger audience by expanding from mail-order onto the high street, and struck a deal with the discount chain Aldi to stock nappies, baby wipes, potty training pants and swimwear. The company has seen rapid growth over the last 2 years with products listed in more mainstream retailers than ever before.Today, Bambino Mio’s products, made in China, Lithuania and Britain, are also sold by stores including Waitrose, Boots and Walmart.
