FSB teamed up with UK Business Mentoring to deliver a seminar on ‘How to grow your business and improve profitability’. The session was led by the eminently listenable Simon Palmer (pictured) at the offices of EMW Law LLP in Crawley. Metrobank, which have a branch in Crawley town centre, also co-hosted, to help the event go with a swing.

Simon delivered a comprehensive overview of the UKBM Zulu Business Model, together with humour and personal business insights, drawn from his extensive experience supporting SMEs and many years in corporate roles internationally. Business owners in the audience were advised to focus on their target market and think through the compelling competitive advantage that their firm needs to have, in order to thrive.

Business leaders analysed their leadership and management qualities and at the end of the seminar recorded their actions for change as a result of Simon’s input.

Geoff Williamson, Sussex Area Leader, commented, “I really enjoyed the seminar today and found the financial section particularly useful. For business owners, I can see there is immediate value in reviewing and applying the advice given.”

Simon Palmer of UK Business Mentoring said, “The free seminars UK Business Mentoring run around the country give us a great opportunity to develop the tools available to SME Directors and business owners to enable the growth and profitability of their businesses. In this sense, FSB is a great match for us to partner alongside.”

Martin Searle, FSB’s Development Manager for Sussex, added “On the back of today’s successful event, we are looking to organise a further seminar with Simon. We are targeting an event on our beautiful coastal strip. Watch this space for further details.”
