FSB supporting Young Enterprise locally

Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading enterprise and financial education charity that empowers young people to harness their personal and business skills, and is supported by FSB. With a network of over 5,000 business volunteers and over 250,000 young people participating in YE programmes, Young Enterprise delivers almost 3 million learning hours in 5,000 schools, colleges and universities each year.

Young Enterprise volunteers have one thing in common - a desire to share their skills and experience of work to inspire the next generation of young people. Volunteering can be challenging, but the excitement and satisfaction of mentoring, of transforming attitudes and helping young people open their eyes to opportunity keeps our volunteers coming back year after year.

There are a number of ways FSB members can work with Young Enterprise to support young people to develop their key employability skills and fulfil their full potential. Young Enterprise is looking for mentors to spend one hour a week with young people in the various schools and colleges we work with, to help them with their student companies in our renowned Company Programme during the academic year.

Neil Eames, representing FSB in Dorset, Hampshire and Isle of Wight said “We are very keen to help raise young people’s awareness of business and also boost their employability skills. Working with Young Enterprise provides the perfect opportunity to engage with the next generation, enhance your own staff’s communication skills and also to give something back to your local community.”
