In November FSB partnered with the Bristol Business School at UWE to run a half day workshop for local business women around the topics of self-identity and self-leadership.
Delegates had the opportunity to hear from Professor Harriet Shortt on her research within the hairdressing industry and to take part in interactive activities to explore their own experiences at work.
FSB members Alison North and Bini Ludlow volunteered to help put the seminar together with UWE and both discussed their own business experiences during the session; sharing anecdotes ranging from being the first female working on an oil rig to working on TV alongside other chefs , all male! Their experiences were well received by the group and sparked animated discussion.
We look forward to more partnership working with the university in 2020 and keep an eye on our event’s page for more events.
