FSB North Yorkshire Member – Finalist in National Worldpay Awards

In May FSB & Worldpay UK Business Awards 2017’s celebrated the most inspiring small businesses at a high profile awards ceremony attended by the movers and shakers of the business industry, political sphere and national media.

Tim Campbell MBE, entrepreneur and winner of BBC’s ‘The Apprentice’, hosted the ceremony as the winners of 11 categories were announced to an excited crowd at Shakespeare’s Globe in SE1. The overall winner was Kendal Nutricare whose prizes included a cheque for £12,000, and a year’s honorary FSB membership. Kendal Nutricare was recognised as just eighteen months ago, Ross McMahon bought a struggling local H J Heinz manufacturing plant that had cut its talented workforce by more than 70 per cent over five consecutive years and reported losses of £4 million.  McMahon’s vision and strategy were clear - turnaround the fortunes of the Kendal site by manufacturing and exporting high quality infant formula to China, which he recognised would be in rising demand following the relaxation of China’s one child policy.
