FSB London Women and International Women’s Day

It’s brilliant to see so much energy generated year on year with International Women’s Day.

FSB is playing its part throughout the week with hundreds of events organised across the country to celebrate women’s achievements in business.

We also have a Twitter day campaign featuring #100FSBwomen and the official IWD hashtag #PressForProgress, celebrating 100 FSB Women as role models who can inspire more women into business across the world.

Nationally, FSB nationally have established great links with Facebook through a global campaign started last year, called #SheMeansBusiness – you may have seen some of the videos on TV and social media.

In London we held our celebrations on Tuesday 6 March alongside our successful FSB London Women in Business (LWIB) Group.

The usual LWIB format of networking with a female focus and great speakers, worked perfectly to show just how successful women can be in business.

As an extra bonus, this month we had two fantastic speakers:

Sarah Ali Choudhury, an accomplished celebrity chef and TV personality told her story about succeeding as a women in a very male business world, after starting her business journey at a really young age in her field, and at 20 being recognised as the youngest Asian female to manage an Indian restaurant.

Rina Goldenberg Lynch, founder and CEO of ‘Voice At The Table’ talked about her varied business career, first as a lawyer in Washington DC, moving to London to work as a banking lawyer, then Director in the legal department at ING Bank London, before leaving the corporate world in 2014 to set up ‘Voice At The Table’, a platform focusing on gender diversity and inclusion.

FSB LWIB meet on the second Tuesday each month in central London. For more information for this and other FSB London events visit our Events Calendar.
