FSB joins organising committee for Gwynedd Business Week

FSB is proud to be part of the organising committee for Gwynedd Business Week. Working hand in hand with the Management Centre of Bangor University, Gwynedd Business Network and Gwynedd Council to produce an effective and ambitious business week every year. This year Gwynedd Business Week consisted of 14 events across the county.

The highlight of Gwynedd Business Week is the gala dinner. This year’s guest speaker was FSB’s Diversity Chair Helen Walbey.

Helen firstly spoke at a Women in Business event in Llanberis and then at the dinner. There were over 140 guests including businesses in the County, Gwynedd County Councillors, the Vice Chancellor of Bangor University and other university representatives. The dinner was also attended by Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport.

Ian Nellist, FSB Wales Regional Chair presented the FSB Young Entrepreneur award to Freya Bentham who has built up a business of two cafes in Harlech.

Helen Walbey’s speech was the highlight of the evening. One dinner guest commented: “Amazing, powerful and inspiring” she went onto add “It made me want to take over the world”.

It is clear to see the huge impact of Gwynedd Business Week on businesses in the area, and this will continue to grow alongside the annual event.
