FSB hosts women’s networking lunch in East Anglia
FSB hosts women’s networking lunch in East Anglia
East of England
20 December 2017
Influential businesswomen from across East Anglia have come together for a networking lunch in Bury St Edmunds.
The event, organised by the Federation of Small Businesses, took place at the Edmunds Restaurant, on the campus of West Suffolk College.
Food and drinks at the restaurant are prepared and served by students aspiring towards a career in the catering industry.
Salena Dawson, East Anglia Chair, hosted the lunch, and told attendees about the FSB’s focus over the past 18 months on the challenges and opportunities for women in enterprise.
She said: “We believe that networking events like this provide a crucial opportunity for businesswomen to see the range of support out there for them locally, and give them a great chance to build up key contacts.
“Being enthusiastic advocates of the skills agenda, it was also great to have a lunch that was so brilliantly prepared and delivered by the students here.”
Cherry Allen, who runs her own HR and training firm in Sudbury, was the main speaker at the event, and discussed the steps that women could take to avoid standing in the way of their own success.
