The FSB Untapped Potential report and Facebook’s #shemeansbusiness research clearly identified that one of the key barriers women starting their own business is the lack of female roles models.

FSB Kent has been facilitating business brunch meetings for the past two years to enable women in business to network, offer advice and support and build their contacts. More than 300 women have taken part.

Deborah Turner, FSB Taskforce member, has been the driving force behind these events.

Deborah says, “Having worked in a male-dominated industry myself, I know only too well about the lack of visible female role models. The aim of the FSB women in business brunches is to make sure we know and see women active in a whole range of roles across business.

“This brunch on 3 July will launch our autumn and winter events schedule, give us time to consider our successes and challenges and help women build their contacts.”

Two entrepreneurs have been confirmed as guest speakers - Fran Boorman and Jo Wimble-Groves.
