Small businesses seized the opportunity to come and meet the regional FSB team during two hot and sunny days at the Suffolk Show on 31 May – 1 June.
The glorious weather drove visitor numbers at the event to their highest level for many years, and plenty of members visited the FSB’s marquee for a chat with the team – led by Vice-Chair Mike Drain – over refreshments.
The event also presented a great opportunity to meet the broader business community, with Membership Advisor Richard George on hand to talk to prospective joiners about the growing range of FSB services and support.
On the first day of the event, Regional Chair Salena Dawson and Norfolk Chair David Howell were also in attendance to engage with visitors and speak about the team’s plans for the upcoming period.
Teas and coffees at the marquee were served by the Age UK fundraising team, who were advertising the charity’s “Big Chinwag” campaign, which ran during June. FSB-branded cupcakes were prepared for the event and also proved popular.
The team offered members and non-members alike the opportunity to swap their businesses cards for an FSB-branded ale from Humpty Dumpty Brewery, based in Norfolk.
Several Suffolk members – including Anglia Karting, Together Removals, Suffolk Timber Frame Buildings, and River Cruise Restaurants - were invited to exhibit their own businesses within the marquee over the two days, and also spoke to visitors about the ways in which they had benefited from joining the FSB.
Looking forward, the FSB will be at the Menta Trade Fair on 3 October, and is once again inviting members to display their great array of businesses at an EXPO at The Forum in Norwich on 1 November. Firms interested in exhibiting at the event should send an email to Kathleen.email@example.com
