The business festival creates a forum where businesses and individuals can access information and support on topics such as access to funding, marketing and promotional strategies, recruitment, legal services or up-skilling staff.

Attending events brings the opportunity to grow your contacts, enhance your supply chain, learn new skills and see products, services and new innovations that could help your business.

The annual, two-week Festival is now in its fifth year, and will be taking place from Monday 28 October to Friday 8 November 2019.

FSB Development Manager Jennifer Thomas represents small businesses on the LBF steering group and said: "The FSB is delighted to be able to sponsor the Leicester Business Festival again this year.

"98% of the registered businesses in Leicester and Leicestershire are Small or Micro sized businesses. In fact, 78% have between 0 and 5 staff and we see the festival as a key opportunity for small businesses and the self-employed to network, develop their skills and access advice and support.

"While we offer our members a great deal of business support services, we are primarily a lobbying organisation and the festival is a key opportunity to talk about and tackle the challenges small businesses and the self employed face, as well as to highlight the support available.

"There are high-profile events of national significance such as a demonstration of the latest transport technologies like flying taxis; and the opportunity to get on the NHS’s supply chain, to face-to-face business meetings with Chinese companies who have travelled to Leicester specifically to strike up business relationships during the festival.”

Local FSB members and their contacts and clients are encouraged to take advantage of the festival either by attending some of the 100+ events put on locally, or joining the conversation and business opportunities shared on social media by following #LBF2019, @LBFestival and @FSBEastMids
