The Federation of Small Businesses has launched a new networking group aiming to celebrate female entrepreneurship in East Anglia.

The first meeting of the new group was held at Newmarket Racecourse on 29 January.

Hosted by FSB East Anglia Area Lead Linda Barbour, the bi-monthly event, which is open to everyone, will showcase speakers from across the region, while also giving attendees an opportunity to develop new local business contacts.

The first event saw Wendy Smith discussing personal development, based on her own experience as a paralympian. Wendy spoke about the benefits of more self-awareness in overcoming business challenges.

FSB research has highlighted the importance of celebrating entrepreneurial female role models in order to encourage young women to consider starting their own businesses.

The next meeting of the group will take place on 25 March, when the guest speaker will be local business owner Jacky Ling. Bookings can be made through the FSB website.
