Farewell from the West Yorkshire Development Manager

After eight years at the FSB, firstly as East Midlands Policy Manager and then as West Yorkshire Development Manager, I am leaving FSB for a new challenge.  So, I thought I would use editor’s privilege to say goodbye to everyone here.

One of the things I will miss most about working for the FSB is being on our exhibition stand at one of the Business Conferences and exhibitions in West Yorkshire.  With several thousand members in West Yorkshire it isn’t possible to meet every single one face-to-face but I’ve certainly met a good proportion on the FSB stand!

I’ve personally found it very interesting chatting to members, hearing about the broad range of businesses our members run, and the issues that hinder them in running their businesses.  As the person who has compiled the West Yorkshire pages of Voice for the last six years, these conversations with members have been great at generating stories and articles for the magazine and our e-newsletter, and invaluable for our local and national lobbying work.

I would like to extend a particularly big thank you to all of the members who have volunteered their time on the Regional and Branch Committees in West Yorkshire, and those who have helped us deliver events and lobbying campaigns.  Thank you so much!  It has been lovely getting to know you and I’m sure we’ll meet again.

So, farewell and I wish you all every success with your business ventures.
