Does your business really need to own a vehicle or could sharing be the answer?

With forthcoming regulations covering emissions standards, if you use a vehicle infrequently to reach your customers, or deliver goods and services, joining a car club may be worth considering.

Many offer a range of different types of vehicles, with discounts for small and micro businesses available too, because SMEs are more likely to use the vehicles when private drivers don’t and on a regular basis.

New and innovative schemes are being set up all over London, and the TfL Car Club page is a good way to find out what available across London. It’s also worth checking out your own Council webpages too.

For example, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea runs a car club scheme with three operators and they allow car club members to park their car club vehicle in residents’ bays in the borough, free of charge.

There are other formats including a floating car club scheme through DriveNow covering Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest.
