Fern Lulham (left), a local businesswoman with a background in radio and media, gave a rousing and inspirational talk on the benefits of the Disability Confident scheme and how employers can benefit from the loyalty, hard work, talent and ‘can-do’ attitude of disabled people. “We also highlighted that self-employed entrepreneurs are a diverse and growing sector in their own right these days.
People from all walks of life run, and are considering running, their own business and this can be a positive choice for someone with a disability”, said Martin Searle, Development Manager for Sussex.
