Dingwall Community Council are hopeful that bus tours linking cruise ships' passengers from Invergordon will be a boost for local firms.
David Richardson, Development Manager for the Highlands & Islands, said: “The Cromarty Port Authority has done a fantastic job in attracting so many cruise ships, but as we all know, success is not measured by the number of passengers that they carry but by the amount of money that their passengers spend with small Highland businesses.
“The coach trips to Dingwall to experience the museum and Macdonald Monument in an ancient and traditional Highland market town should give Dingwall’s small businesses an opportunity to shine while selling their wares. Everyone should win.
“At the end of the day, we want cruise ship passengers to leave port feeling happy, relaxed and fulfilled…while clutching their local purchases. Happy passengers means happy cruise ship companies means more cruise ships in future means more business for local traders!”
