Did the bomb affect your business?

Businesses in Greater Manchester are being asked to feed in to research looking at how last year’s Manchester Arena bomb affected them. The Campaign Company is an independent organisation commissioned to research the impact of the Manchester Arena attack on businesses and their experiences with and attitudes to terrorism insurance.

This research has been commissioned by Pool Re, the government-backed terrorism reinsurer, set up by the insurance industry in 1993. To date terrorism insurance only covers damage to property but in March 2018 Government announced its intention to change legislation to extend this to include wider business disruption.

Pool Re have been given the responsibility by Government to shape this extended cover and to ensure it is being offered to businesses, via its member insurance brokers, once the legislation is passed.

Pool Re has asked The Campaign Company to research the impact of the Manchester Arena attack on businesses to better understand their insurance and support needs.

Robert Downes, FSB Development Manager for GM, said: “Sharing your experience will be invaluable to this piece of work. The Campaign Company would be grateful if businesses could find any time to take part. You can get involved by completing the online survey here or you can speak to the research team directly - by phone or face to face - over the next two weeks”.
