Cyber security issues top agenda at Cumbrian meeting

Members and guests gathered at Abbey House Hotel in Furness to hear about key updates on one of the years hot topics – how to ensure small businesses aren’t hit by the growing wave of cyber attacks. 


Helen Williams from TITAN, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit presented on the issues and latest trends and advised attendees on steps they could take to keep safe.  According to TITAN, THE Government state that by following simple steps such as using strong passwords, installing security software and downloading software updates, 80% of cyber crime can be prevented. 

James Cordiner from LHS Solicitors also presented to attendees on the support available to all FSB members as part of their membership, including a cyber crime advice line and a third party insurance cover which would provide support to FSB members in the event of losses incurred through a cyber-attack.
