New FSB Members Rural Arts is a charity that delivers inspiring and inclusive creative opportunities that enrich lives and connect communities. They provide over 400 events and activities each year at their community arts centre in Thirsk, which is also home to an award-winning café, a gallery shop and rooms to hire. They programme 70 performances per year in rural venues and lead a range of wellbeing and employment programmes to support vulnerable people.
Director & CEO, Max May said, “We joined the FSB because of the amazing value for money of the membership – particularly with the Hambleton District Council discount.
“In our first year, we’ve accessed policies and resources, real life professional advice and benefitted from their powerful lobbying abilities.”
Although Rural Arts are a charity they have found that, more and more, they have to think like a business. FSB’s North Yorkshire Development Manager, Carolyn Frank said, “It’s been a pleasure to help Rural Arts and see them using the benefits that FSB Membership brings”.
