Could you benefit from Small Business Saturday?

Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.

The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses. In 2017 Small Business Saturday is on Saturday, December 2nd.

On Small Business Saturday, customers across the U.K go out and support all types of small businesses, online, in offices and in stores. Many small businesses take part in the day by hosting events and offering discounts.

As part of the campaign, small businesses are invited to put themselves forward to be featured as an exemplar business, on one of the 100 days leading up to Small Business Saturday and in Worcestershire, we have two FSB members who have won through to this stage.

JuLu Laundry Ladder (pictured above) provide an alternative and eco-friendly way to dry clothes.  They produce beautifully made pieces of furniture form Pine or English Ash, all designed to a high standard that will last for many years.  As Julia Adams said: “Lucie my friend from school approached me about her wall hanging airer when many friends and family had complimented her on it.

"We took her concept idea and developed it into the registered and trade mark design “The Laundry Ladder”.  We are proud that after launching just under 3 years ago, we now have many customers all over the world.  With more than 1000 units sold, we have many great reviews of the Laundry Ladder”.

Meanwhile, Wheels4Dogs (pictured below) has won recognition for its innovative product range and customer service.  The company imports pet ‘wheelchairs’ that help older and/or physically challenged animals to lead more active and fulfilling lives.
