Last Friday (4 October 2019) Rochester Cathedral filled with businesses, families and apprentices at the first Kent and Medway Apprentice Graduation Ceremony. The aim of the event was to celebrate and raise awareness of the skills an apprentice can bring to business; to formally celebrate their achievements and to elevate the perception of an apprentice to one that is as valued as much as a university graduate.

Hundreds of apprentices from local firms, local authorities and the NHS graduated in front of friends and family. They were congratulated by the Minister for Small Businesses Kelly Tolhurst MP as well as FSB National Chair Mike Cherry OBE.

We are indebted to an enthusiastic working group comprising Kent County Council, Medway Council, Kent Association of Training Organisations, The Leigh Academies Trust, Wirebelt, Careers and Enterprise Company, The Education People, Kent Further Education who were all expertly led by Event Manager Amanda Flanders of Evexio Ltd. Thank you too to all the sponsors who supported this event

If you have an apprentice who will complete their qualification between 4 October 2019 and 31 August 2020 and who may wish to graduate, do contact Development Manager Alison Parmar via Alison.parmar@fsb.org.uk.
