Are your digital skills lagging behind what you and your business need?

Our Kent and Medway Development Manager Alison Parmar has been asked to co-chair the South East Local Enterprise’s new Digital Skills Partnership (DSP) Steering Group, where she can put forward SMEs views, concerns and suggestions. It will also be a chance to hear about digital skills training taking place across the region and to share this with members.

Jim Wilkinshaw is the DSP Co-ordinator and says, “We were delighted to see so many organisations at our first Steering Group meeting in October, representing the diverse range of stakeholders across our region. You can read more about the session here, including the appointment of our Co-Chairs, agreed priorities for the local DSP and our next steps.”

So far, Michaela Neild from Google announced that her organisation would deliver five Digital Garage events across SELEP, as part of their support to the local DSP.

Dates confirmed are:

Isle of Sheppey 22 November

Medway              3 December

East Sussex         4 December

Thurrock              6 December

Basildon               11 December

“We are hugely grateful to Google for agreeing to a sixth event in Braintree that will also be confirmed soon,” added Jim. “Plus Huawei have kindly agreed to bring their amazing 5G Truck to University campuses in SELEP, dates soon to be confirmed.”

The Digital Skills Partnership has signed up to the Tech Talent Charter and has thus made a commitment to work with partners to drive greater inclusion and diversity in technology roles.
