  • 21 Jun 2017

3rd Space at the Great Orme Brewery, set in the 100 year old Llandudno abattoir in Builder Street, is in its second year of business in 2017.  In this time it has become one of Conwy and Llandudno’s go to venues for live music, comedy, pop up restaurants, community outreach projects and much more. The diversity and innovation shown by the company earned it the coveted FSB Small Business of the Year Award at the recent Conwy Business Awards.

This year the Awards received an unprecedented number of nominees, over 130 from businesses and business people of all sizes and sectors.

The Conwy awards evening was the biggest yet, with over 370 business people in attendance and performances from Canwy Conwy Choir, and dance group Autonomy.

Jane Richardson – CCBC Strategic Director of Economy and Place, said,

“It was great to see the best of Conwy’s businesses coming together for the Awards ceremony. Each category was very closely contested which showed the amazing quality of the businesses that are based here, both long-established companies and exciting new talent. It was a great night for networking and a lot of business was being done around the room. We are enormously grateful to all our sponsors whose support made the night possible.”

Alan Cooper, FSB Conwy Branch Chair, who presented the Award said,

“It was inspiring to see so many successful and motivated businesses being recognised at the awards ceremony. There was a really good atmosphere in the room, with lots of interaction and networking between Conwy businesses who attended. I’m delighted that FSB was able to support such a worthwhile event.”

Other winners on the night included CAIS as Business of the Year, Llandudno Bike Hire as New Business of the Year and Livetech as IT Business of the Year.  Other awards went to the Imperial Hotel, Welsh Mountain Zoo, Gwinllan Conwy and Llandudno Football in the Community. Any Ainscough of Surf Snowdonia was awarded Business Person of the Year and Ffion Lloyd from Cartrefi Conwy won Apprentice of the Year.
