As the Making Tax Digital regime approaches in the next few months, business owners are seeking expert advice and guidance on what they need to do to comply with the new rules.
As part of the commitment to support SMEs throughout the UK, FSB has unveiled a free-to-use Making Tax Digital (MTD) hub at www.fsb.org.uk/standing-up-for-you/our-campaigns/making-tax-digital/making-tax-digital-hub
Providing free guides to download, an overview of the new system, a video explanation of MTD and details of seminars to be held throughout the UK the hub will provide everything that is needed for the small business owner to comply with the rules.
The seminars will be hosted by David Marples, Underwriting Compliance Manager of Abbey Tax, providers for FSB Tax Investigation Protection.
David has worked his entire career in the tax arena, starting with HMRC as an Inspector of Taxes before joining Abbey Tax where he has represented members of FSB who have been selected by HMRC for an enquiry into their business affairs. This role also involves giving advice to FSB members in relation to maintaining business records in an ever changing environment with increased statutory requirements.
The nationwide series of seminars is part of a full range of resources that FSB is putting together to help small firms meet their requirements as part of the Making Tax Digital programme.
